How are GuldenTrader transactions taxed?
Crypto transactions made through GuldenTrader are taxable under Dutch and EU regulations.
Capital gains tax: Applies when you sell, trade, or exchange crypto. In the Netherlands, crypto holdings are taxed as part of your Box 3 wealth tax, which considers the total value of your assets on January 1 of the tax year.
Income tax: Applies when you earn crypto through staking, airdrops, mining, or other income-generating activities. These are generally taxed under Box 1 income as "other earnings."
CoinTracker calculates both your capital gains and income values, helping you comply with Dutch, EU, or other international reporting requirements.
Do I have to pay taxes on GuldenTrader?
Yes. You are required to pay taxes on crypto held, traded, or earned on GuldenTrader.
Depending on your activity:
Holding crypto: The total value is included in your Box 3 wealth tax calculation.
Trading crypto: May be subject to additional taxation if you trade frequently or for professional purposes.
Earning crypto: Rewards or staking income are taxable under Box 1 as ordinary income.
CoinTracker ensures that all your GuldenTrader activity is automatically categorized and valued correctly for accurate reporting.
Does GuldenTrader provide tax documents?
Yes. GuldenTrader provides account statements and transaction exports from your trading dashboard.
While GuldenTrader does not issue IRS-style forms (like 1099-MISC or 1099-B), you can use your transaction history to generate country-specific reports through CoinTracker for the Netherlands, EU, or global tax jurisdictions.
How to get your GuldenTrader tax documents
Log in to your GuldenTrader account.
Go to Account → Reports → Transaction History.

Upload the CSV file to CoinTracker, or connect via API (if available) for automatic syncing and real-time tax tracking.
When does GuldenTrader issue Form 1099-MISC, 1099-B, or 1099-DA?
GuldenTrader does not issue U.S. tax forms such as 1099-MISC, 1099-B, or 1099-DA because it operates under European financial regulations.
However, CoinTracker helps EU users generate equivalent reports for local filings — for example, the Belastingdienst (Netherlands) or Finanzamt (Germany) — using accurate capital gain and income calculations.
CoinTracker's reports are already formatted to align with 1099-DA reporting.
Why aren't my GuldenTrader documents accurate?
GuldenTrader reports may not include:
Crypto held in external wallets
Transfers to or from other exchanges
DeFi or staking transactions outside GuldenTrader
CoinTracker consolidates all your crypto holdings and activities from multiple exchanges and wallets to create a complete, accurate tax report.
Does GuldenTrader automatically deduct taxes?
No. GuldenTrader does not withhold or deduct taxes from your trades or earnings.
You are responsible for calculating and reporting your crypto holdings and income.
CoinTracker automates this by generating localized tax summaries that match your country's filing requirements.
Does GuldenTrader report to tax authorities?
GuldenTrader operates under Dutch and EU AML/KYC regulations and complies with financial reporting standards.
Under upcoming EU directives such as DAC8 (effective 2026), GuldenTrader will be required to report crypto user activity to European tax authorities.
CoinTracker ensures your tax filings match these regulatory disclosures for accuracy and compliance.
Does GuldenTrader provide financial or end-of-year statements?
Yes. You can download end-of-year summaries and full account statements directly from your GuldenTrader dashboard.
Import these into CoinTracker to generate your wealth summary (Box 3) and crypto income report (Box 1) for your Dutch or EU tax return.
